Description
SIA 2022 ECO-DESIGN READY
This fireplace meets stove regulations and exceeds the Eco-Design 2022 requirements for burning both wood and smokeless fuel. The Eco-Design requirement is an initiative to reduce harmful emissions, and it is mandatory in Europe for all fireplaces. Recent studies have found Eco-Design Ready fireplaces can offer a 90% reduction in particulates released when compared to an open fire and 80-94% reduction when compared to an old fireplace. All test results have been carried out by Kiwa Gastec in the UK. In South Africa it is not a requirement to have an Eco-Design Ready appliance; however, those who are concerned by the impact of their consumer choices on the environment are choosing Eco-Design Ready appliances.
DEFRA APPROVED STOVE
A Defra approved stove is an industry term for a SE (smoke exempt) fireplace which has been approved to burn specific fuels in a smoke-controlled area that would usually not be allowed (i.e., wood). The Defra approval has been achieved by factory fitting a mechanical stop to prevent secondary air closure beyond a 31mm open position.
The Golnar 69 Insert is an Eco-design ready, wood-burning fireplace that combines modern style with high-efficiency performance. Its door features a large glass window framed by a thin, silver, steel border offering an elegant view of the flames. The glass in the window has an opaque, black, designer border finish. The insert comes with its own convection box to enhance heat circulation, ensuring easy installation with a clean, finished look.
This high-efficiency, A energy index rated fireplace is designed to burn wood. Featuring a “hybrid” design – a stove within a stove – the Golnar 69 is constructed from durable Q235B carbon steel, with a combustion chamber lined with vermiculite brick. The chamber dimensions are 56.5cm (width) x 24cm (depth) x 35cm (height), and it includes a removable cast iron grate.
Two air control levers – one for Primary Air and the other for Secondary Combustion and the Air Wash system – give you full control over the burning process. The Secondary Burn enhances efficiency, reduces fuel usage, and lowers emissions. A steel baffle plate optimizes heat retention and improves the updraft regulation, helping heat stay in the combustion chamber for longer, resulting in higher heat output and cleaner glass. The combustion chamber has a tall, cast-iron log retainer and the fireplace comfortably burns 44cm logs. It has a removable ash pan, with a handle for easy cleaning.
For improved air quality, the Golnar 69 also offers the option to connect to an external fresh air intake (100mm, box included). You can choose between two stylish frame finishes: a larger steel frame in matt finish (included), or the same frame with an added ‘optional extra’ opaque black glass layer for a refined touch. Both give the installation a sophisticated final look. Included with the Golnar 69 is an instruction manual, a glove, and an ashpan tool for added convenience.
The Golnar 69 Insert is built to meet stringent EU regulations and safety standards, including SIA Eco-design, Defra, UKCA, and EN approvals. It is a high-quality product that has been designed for strength and durability. The Golnar 69 has been crafted and designed with precision in China for the UK market. It comes with a 5-year limited guarantee, offering you peace of mind and long-lasting performance. Elevate your home with the Golnar 69 Insert—a blend of style, efficiency, and durability.
